The RED Camera

The RED Camera has been building praise from many directors. The RED Camera is designed for flexibility allowing the DP to use it as a hand held camera if desired. The RED camera is fitted with a 35mm PL lens that gives the image a softer quality. The camera stores the image digitally saving money on film. Images can be shot in a 4K capacity that viewers say is the equivalent to 65mm film. The camera has a 4520 x 2540 pixel capacity allowing for longer shooting time than a 35mm film camera. Because the RED Camera is digital dailies can be viewed immediately. “Knowing” and “Angels & Demons” were both shot using a RED Camera. The images are rich with detail and color creating a visually simulating effect.
