Talk around the "watercooler"

So we were sitting around the lunch table as we do many a day discussing TV shows. With this weeks bust on Lost promising a new episode but only giving a recap we wandered into the field of other good TV shows. Well they are few and far between. As much as the prime stations fill up their time slots with various shows there is not much grabbing our attention here at Trio. The Office has become a new show for me but has been a regular favorite for my co-workers. 24 has Erin raving and with its thrills and suspense it is like Lost but with more connections and action. I’m just afraid that it will be so suspenseful that I’ll leave the show unsatisfied waiting for the ending. But with all the good buzz around it and the fact that I can still handle Lost, I might be adding 24 to my Netflix soon. Californication is another good show that Erin and I love. It’s funny and short and I love that is it set in Venice. Though I have no idea when they film because I have never seen them out there. I do prefer the 30minute shows to an hour just because every episode always ties itself together at the end. But, the hour long shows have me wishing it will never end and are much more stimulating.

The RED Camera

The RED Camera has been building praise from many directors. The RED Camera is designed for flexibility allowing the DP to use it as a hand held camera if desired. The RED camera is fitted with a 35mm PL lens that gives the image a softer quality. The camera stores the image digitally saving money on film. Images can be shot in a 4K capacity that viewers say is the equivalent to 65mm film. The camera has a 4520 x 2540 pixel capacity allowing for longer shooting time than a 35mm film camera. Because the RED Camera is digital dailies can be viewed immediately. “Knowing” and “Angels & Demons” were both shot using a RED Camera. The images are rich with detail and color creating a visually simulating effect.
To check more information on the RED camera go to www.red.com . And to read more about the RED Camera and its founder go to Wired Magazine: Analog Meets its Match in Red Digital Cinema's Ultrahigh-Res Camera.

Happy Easter and Happy Passover!

With every holiday comes food, and the best part of the meal is dessert!
For a wonderful Easter cake try the food network's Raspberry-Lemon Easter Cake. With its cute sugar cookie bunnies and creamy icing it’s sure to be the hit of the party.
For Passover try the Food Network’s Passover Fruit Crisp with Coco-Loconut toppings. Using peaches, nectarines, blueberries, rhubarb and apples along with a coconut topping this dessert is sure to have your family talking. It’s cool and refreshing and will end your evening right.

Office Talk

It’s Thursday and as half the crew at Trio knows that means Lost discussion! What an exciting season Lost has been so far. I must admit that last season finale had me quitting Lost. But, with the promise of only 2 more seasons how could I stop watching. Right from this season’s first episode I was hooked again. Every episode gets better and better. Then we gather around the lunch table and discuss Lost picking apart every minute of the show. I have now become a Lost junkie and go on the LA time entertainment section to read the Lost blog every Thursday morning. There I find answers to questions I had missed. So be aware production crews, don’t DVR Lost and catch up on the weekend or we might just ruin it for you at lunch.
